THE MULS BEELINE MENTORING SCHEME
Applications for the 2024/25 academic year have now closed.
The MULS Bursary Scheme is back in the form of the Beeline Mentoring Scheme.
Beeline is a mentoring scheme, continuing on from the Bursary Scheme last year. All successful candidates will receive one-to-one mentoring from a trainee or lawyer at one of our sponsor firms! The scheme is an invaluable mentorship opportunity to kickstart and progress your legal career. There is also an opportunity to receive a free ticket to the Law Ball!
There will also be onboarding workshops provided by MULS to assist and guide you throughout the scheme! Our aim is to reduce the barriers students face when pursuing a career in commercial law.
Eligibility:
We welcome all students, from all year groups who come from any underrepresented background to the mentoring scheme. Examples can include:
Low income (e.g. receiving the Manchester Bursary)
Gender
Race
Low socioeconomic status
First generation to attend university
State school educated
Sexual orientation
Students only need to satisfy one of these.
Those who come from a low income background, low socioeconomic background, or grew up in an area with low progression to higher education, will be eligible to receive a free ticket to the Law Ball.
The form takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Together, we will shape a legal profession that truly reflects the richness of talent from all backgrounds. Any questions regarding this scheme please contact muls.sponsorships@gmail.com

I am grateful for the bursary, which enabled me to attend the law ball and engage in valuable networking and socializing opportunities. The mentorship provided was immensely helpful, especially with my applications. I was honoured to participate in the exclusive Social Mobility Insight Day at one of the sponsor firms. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I want to extend my thanks to MULS for this opportunity.

I applied for the MULS bursary scheme because I wanted to have more confidence in my ability to make strong and applications to Law firms and also have confidence in my skills as well as improve them. My mentor took the time to understand my aims and we had sessions focusing on different skills and aspects of the application process. The programme gave insight into these areas and I have more knowledge on what to expect and how I can demonstrate my ability confidently to law firms. The skills I've learned will definitely be useful to me in my career path and I thank MULS and my mentor for making this opportunity possible.

The MULS bursary has been instrumental in enriching my university experience. Without it, attending the law ball would have been impossible for me. The bursary enabled me to join my friends and enjoy a memorable evening, ensuring I wasn’t left out of this significant social event. Additionally, the bursary opened doors to exclusive opportunities, such as the MULS social mobility event with Shoosmiths. These experiences have not only enhanced my social life but also broadened my professional network and opportunities. I am incredibly grateful for the support provided by the MULS bursary.
